Hi. I’m Erica Wall, copywriter, creative writer and rubber ducky enthusiast with a fondness for cupcakes.
It’s nice to meet you.
Rubber Ducky Copywriter is my little corner of the Internet. In addition to working on my writing and editing skills, I try to post something helpful every so often to make your stay worthwhile.
Yes, I’m a professional copywriter.
I’ve been a paid wordsmith for more than 10 years, and have built the brand voices for start-ups as well a well-known Fortune 500 company. I have a Bachelor’s Degree of Fine Arts from the University of Houston, but I never got around to getting a UH sweatshirt, which I kinda regret on cold, breezy days.
If you’re curious, you can check out my street creds on WallCopywriting.com and my LinkedIn page, and view my portfolio on Behance. And if you’re in the mood for random gifs and writing quotes, visit me on Twitter.
I don’t have any books on the New York Times Bestseller list, nor have I been featured in any major magazines or publications. I write in the real world. I have a 3+ hour roundtrip work commute, a husband I call “Sweetie” and a cat named Henwen. Most of my creative writing is done during lunch and random blocks of time scattered throughout my day job as a copywriter. I also go through periods of I-Don’t-Wanna-Write and Oh-Crap-I’ll-Never-Write-Again. The lengths to which I’ll go to put off writing (and doing housework) shake even me to my core.
But I get it done despite myself. And I like to share how so maybe you can get it done despite yourself, too.
Note: If you’re one of those writers who have it all together and never procrastinate or compromise your writing time, I applaud your awesomeness and wonder why you’re here. And if you could share your secret.
