Hello and welcome back to Writing Prompt Friday! This week’s prompt is inspired by a traffic jam that left me sitting in my vehicle with time to spend contemplating the mysteries of life. After deciding that I couldn’t solve the mysteries of life, I watched nearby birds play in the air currents and let my imagine wander to think about all the things I could have been doing if I wasn’t stuck behind another vehicle.
This is why we use the facilities before we hit the road.
On to this week’s writing prompt. Enjoy! Continue reading
Hello and welcome back to Writing Prompt Friday! Last week, I was cabbaged. At work. It was pure retaliation; after all, I started it. And I regret nothing.
Hang on; let me clarify.
To cabbage someone is to gift them with a cabbage against their will. Hide the cabbage in their belongings, place it lovingly on their desk, mail it to them in the post, whatever transfers ownership of said cabbage (or as many cabbages as you want) to the other person.
I got this prank from, where else, YouTube. Specifically, the BBC game show Would I Lie to You, this one with James Acaster’s archenemy. (It’s hilarious. Bookmark it to watch on bad days.)
Our office cabbage is still making the rounds. I’ve gifted it to our newbie. This poor cabbage now two weeks old and still hanging strong. Not bad for a $1.45 investment.
Now, on to this week’s writing prompt… Continue reading
Hello and welcome back to Writing Prompt Friday! It’s been a four-day work week, but it’s also been so busy it’s felt like a ten-day work week. These are the types of weeks that make the brain work fast and furious. So, of course, it wanders from time to time to take a break.
This week’s writing prompt is brought to you by one of those brain wanderings… Continue reading
Hello and welcome back to Writing Prompt Friday! Yes, it’s only Wednesday, but I skipped posting a writing last Friday because I was (and still am) sad about Grumpy Cat, and this coming weekend is Memorial Day weekend here in the U.S. and I get a three-day weekend, so there’s a good chance my brain will get overexcited about the extra day off and totally forget about posting. Posting these prompts is fun, and I don’t want to forget.
This week’s prompt came to me at 2:34 a.m. while I was cleaning up after the cat.
Enjoy! Continue reading
Hello and welcome back to Writing Prompt Friday! It’s goose season here in the Pacific Northwest. The office in which I work is a step away from a nature path that runs along a river. Geese love that setup. They also love nesting, swimming and chasing unsuspecting animal lovers who try to quietly walk past without disturbing them.
Geese chased. I ran. Coworkers laughed. I burned off some calories. No one was injured. Good times were had by all.
So that happened.
This episode of goosery, public exercise and general shenanigans has nothing to do with this week’s writing prompt, but I hope you enjoy it anyway. Continue reading
